The PICS
Where we rode:
Over 200 miles through the San Diego East County. This ride hit the typical
highlights: Old Julian Hwy out of Ramona, attempt to break at The Hideout, then to lunch in Santa Ysabel. Over to Julian, 79 through Cuyumaca, Pine Valley, Sunrise Hwy, and back to Julian for pie.
From the ride...
- The Hideout is only open on weekends, and doesn't make an exception for
the day after Thanksgiving. Bummer.
- It's always colder at elevation.
- After riding the Roadking, the narrow handle bars on the VRod makes it feel like you're pushing a lawnmower.
- The VRod performs nicely, carving the curves better than the traditional Harleys. However, it's not loud enough. I found myself making motor noises with my mouth.
