200+ miles total; here are the fun roads worth mentioning, in order, starting from Packards in Ramona... 3rd Street, Old Julian Hwy...78/79... Pine Hills Rd., Eagle Peak Rd., Boulder Creek Rd., Engineers Rd., ... 78(Banner Rd.), S2, 79, 76 to The Hideout... Mesa Grande (both directions), 76, S7/S6 (Mt. Palomar), ... 76, Valley Center Rd., Lake Wohlford Rd., Valley Pkwy -> Escondido.

from the ride:

The restaurant next to Packards makes a nice breakfast, and the nice folks at Packards don't mind if you eat it at their tables.
The stretch from Pine Hills Rd. through Engineers Rd. is "God's gift to all motorcycle riders" - Aref
The Vulcan is a gas guzzler.
If you're ready for a filling meal, the chili & Tamale special at The Hideout is worth a try.
On a nice sunny December day, if a girl wants to ride back and forth in front of The Hideout in a thong bikini, who's to say she shouldn't.
Only 1 year out of the MSF course, Mark and Mike rode admirably.
