I have a Coppock success story. Two years ago I did not even know my
grandfather's first name. The story behind this would make a book. Now
through visits to AL and contacts with many long lost cousins (from several
states) we have our ancestors traced back to 3d grandparents and continue to
work on more. Also, information on the Internet, e-mail, Root-L groups,
National Archives and just mutual sharing and contact with some wonderful
unknown cousins has led to much happiness and success among a group of SC-AL-
FL-TX Coppocks. It is a wonderful feeling to know all these new cousins and a
real sense of satisfaction in sharing and supplying our respective missing
links. We have much more to learn but we will get there because of the
dedication of a lot of us on this search. It is just a sense of satisfaction
to actually find it and proof it yourself rather than except someone to supply
your entire history. Sharing is wonderful but we each have our own '"tree" to
find first before we link into the past older Coppock lines. Of course, that
is just my opinion.
If anyone has connections to those areas (starting in Newberry County SC on to
AL I will be glad to share information. I do live in Texas but am not the one
who requested the gentlemen send his information through the 'net. I did my
research through private mail and plain, hard work amd communication with
newly found actual cousins! Due to privacy I will not list the "helper"
cousins but they know who they are!
Happy Searching,
Jeri (Coppock) Maserang
P.S. Good luck on your site - I hope it grows and if I can help in any way,
please let me know.
